Halloween Prep

Aubrey did not get a "friends" birthday party this year. She had about 7 celebrations but none with "friends". This is so very sad. She did get an invitation for a school friend's party in November and we are VERY excited about this.

Some friends we haven't seen in WAY too long - maybe a year or more? are coming over on Saturday (they have girls the same ages as our girls (2 and 4)). Not knowing this Aubrey asked if we could have a Halloween Party, and I am putting the 2 things together!

Menu (has nothing to do with Halloween)
Chicken Fajitas
Avodado and Tomoato Salad
Spanish Rice
Chips and Salsa
Halloween Cupcakes with Funfetti icing
Margaritas
Pumpkin Pie Dip

Craft Ideas
Salt Dough Ghosts
Evil Eye Baskets
Bony Beads
Decorate Pumpkins - with sharpies or markers?

If any of the crafts work out I will post pictures!

So Emily, where have you been, you ask? Here, working through life as a crazy person.

  • Email address was hacked and had to change it
  • Cell phone lost all data after Molly licked it - hate that I lost a TON of phone numbers (basically everyone I have added in the last 8 months)
  • Bronchitis for me, Sinus infection for Hubby, now Molly has a cough, Aubrey just got over a cough and cold
  • Trying to figure out how upset I should be with the losses to our retirement accounts (and you could say, "what loss, did you sell" no we didn't sell but still scary maybe?)
  • Going to join WW in the next couple weeks - gaining weight like an idiot.
  • How do you put away summer clothes when it is 80 degrees? Blah.
  • Started Aubrey in swim lessons - she is doing GREAT! I love it!
  • Aubrey is great - her 4yo stats - 42 inches, 40 lbs! None of her 4T clothes fit - unless you want skirts and dresses that don't cover your underwear... and don't get me started on her size 13 feet.
  • Molly is Molly. Don't know what to say about that. Other than she has grown about 6 inches in the last few weeks. Her 2T halloween costume is too small for her. But of course LA is helping me out with that :)
  • I twitter more than I blog these days. Did you know Santa and Mrs. Clause twitter? Really keeps you in touch - and reminded me only 77 days til Christmas!
  • HA, how is that for randomness?

I was going to get out my winter clothes yesterday, And then it was 80. Stupid Mid Atlantic weather.

I'm still stumped as to how licking a phone can break it. Does she have acid in her mouth instead of saliva?

So with you on the retirement thing. Makes me want to cry. And kick people from AIG where it matters.

Holly crap, size 13 feet? Ashley is tall for her age, but she is still only an 11.

It's certainly been a week to remember. We were talking about how the kids really didn't have much to lose as they had time to "make it up". But these things seem to go in cycles and we have to sit tight and keep our eyes and ears open! Life goes on, perhaps with a few tweaks here and there but on none the less.

As I told someone yesterday - "We were really "rich" last week - on paper. We've lost half of our net value - ON PAPER." I just feel for those people who were going to retire now and can't. Or had JUST retired and got "salary slashed". That's rough.

We are finally getting cool(ish) temps in Texas - we go CRAZY when it gets below 79F here! And when it's in the upper 60s, why we are practically digging out our "heavy" coats!

You're party sounds fun and the girls will have a blast. Idea - instead of markers OR Sharpies, get those paint pens instead. More intense color, easier to get out of clothes/off skin later. Jennifer used to use those for her pumpkin art when she was in Jr High and Sr High school. And she did some AWESOME pumpkins (did you know she was going to go to art school and had been accepted to not only the Chicago Art Institute but also Ringling in Sarasota, FL - a Disney feed school???)

I was wondering where you were...never call, never write...sigh...

That is crazy about Aubrey's shoe size--do you have to buy new shoes every other week??

We are going to a pumpkin decorating party next weekend and provided some of those foam stickers (from Michaels) to stick on pumpkins. I think there will also be markers and paints. Kids are looking forward to it!

And I had no idea that the Clause's twittered.

I'm guessing that the Fowler's are coming over??
And those are some BIG FEET. She must get that trait from Doug. Does she have abnormally large fingers, too?!?!

Yikes! That's a whole lot of info for one post :)

Sounds like your Halloween celebration will be a blast.

What a great Halloween celebration. I can't wait for Kyle to be able to enjoy those things.

There are really great kids holiday ideas (cooking and crafts) on the Kraftfoods website. I get stuff from there for my class.

Love the randomness! Love to hear that you are still alive (even after Bronchitis - YUCK!). Funny about AG's foot size - Regan is NOWHERE near that. Glad Molly is Molly. Take care of yourself and the fam! Oh, and GL on WW again!

So Aubrey and Claire continue to be clones of each other -- Claire was 41 and 41 at her 4 year checkup. However, she's just breaking into the 11's on shoes.

Thinking of Molly licking your cell phone is hilarious. I'm sorry. It's so something Madeline would do....

Hey think of the bright side on your retirement accounts...the dow had a record day on Monday!
