Bagels

Aubrey and Daddy were off to swim lessons in -3 degree weather. Molly and I cleaned the house and then needed something fun to do, so I decided we should make bagels.

We had a blast and here is how they turned out!

In the oven!

Just out of the oven and ready to eat, and eat we did! They were delicious!

Good grief - how do you even MAKE bagels?? Are they like big pretzels? Do you have to do the dip in water before baking thing?

Let me know when you figure out how to replicate the Cinnamon Crunch bagel at Panera...THAT would save me some $$

I find its much easier to drive over to Einstein Bros and buy some...but then again - I don't live in the boonies!
They look good. Could you make some and bring them to the Silpada show next weekend?

This is the recipe I used: http://www.recipezaar.com/Home-Baked-Bagels-26168

2 packets of yeast = 4 and 1/2 tsps if you buy it in bulk.

I did use a scale to measure the sugar and salt.

I did not turn my bagels as directed because I liked how they were "fluffing" up :)
