Blog Rolls and Best Days of Summer

So I have been on a "blog roll" lately and have found some really great reads.

• The Mom Lady on SuperMom
• Great post about little ones and half eaten apples or was it?
• Mental Illness and poodles and a daughter
• Caffeinated Librarian has turned me on to a whole new blog world
• Jess - the one that still calls me a geek - check her out, especially the one about the pants and the one about the birthday party!

It is so interesting how these links within links bring people together, kind of like a web! Weird.

And if you didn't know how BLOG got the name blog...

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

And if you don't know what portmanteau is...

A portmanteau (IPA pronunciation: /pɔːtˈmæntəʊ/ RP, /pɔːrtˈmæntoʊ/ US) is a word or morpheme that fuses two or more words or word parts to give a combined or loaded meaning. A folk usage of portmanteau refers to a word formed by combining both sounds and meanings from two or more words (e.g., spork from spoon and fork, animatronics from animation and electronics, ginormous from gigantic and enormous, or blaxploitation from black and exploitation). Typically, portmanteaux are nonce words or neologisms. Portmanteaux are commonly used in scientific literature for a wide variety of technical words, such as cyborg from cybernetic and organism.

I was going to post about our trip to the Maryland State Fair (or the 11 Best Days of Summer), with pictures, but my darling husband set the camera to take "raw" pictures and now we have to figure out how to get those pictures into a usable size and format... he says he will let me know when they are available and he said it with a "don't bring it up again" tone.

I will say we had a FANTASTIC time at the fair. The weather was perfect, it was not too crowded and the girls were wonderful! Aubrey and Molly loved all the animals and Aubrey got to ride the Merry Go Round and pet a bunch of baby animals, very cool!
