Waiting?!

Isn't getting a new job like having a baby... 'cause I have been waiting all day for someone to bring over a casserole, wine, and flowers for me. To do the laundry, to entertain the children, especially my husband.

No?!? Well... that sucks...

Hey - I called to wish you luck...its not my fault you live so freakin' far away!

Seriously. I mean, if you lived in a hip neighborhood like me, we would have delivered some slippery pot pie made with free range chicken, organic spelt noodles (made, of course, with free range eggs — those eggs love to get out for a walk...), and organically grown vegetables.

Well, maybe that wouldn't be good...

Me, I was sitting here thinking, "darn, I gotta go back to work again tomorrow... same old job, minus another good person in the company..."

So. Weird.

The funniest thing is that I can close my eyes and totally hear Jess's voice saying that.

Um, in case the "So. Weird." comment was directed at the slippery pot pie, it really is good - it's basically chicken pot pie served over noodles instead of in a pie crust. quite yummy. If it was directed at the spelt noodles, I heartily agree. I hate spelt.

If it was directed at Em, well then, I guess I would have to agree...

I hope Doug brought you the casserole, wine and flowers. And I hope that your first day is AWESOME!

Maybe you scored, and they'll toast you with wine at lunch which just happens to be casserole. Served at a table with a beautiful centerpiece of florals. Maybe?
