I have been conducting 2 experiments at our house.
One involves my hair. Recently, on the Today Show, in O Magazine, on the E! News show, there has been mention that we should not wash our hair every day. Instead 2-3 times a week is sufficient. This sounded gross to me but my hair was starting to get a tad dry and out of control. So I tried this. I took the advice about what to do in between washes and 2 weeks later I have completely shiny manageable hair. It feels different, it lays different, and it is quite soft!
The other experiment is that there has been ZERO TV for Aubrey. I did this because it was the first thing she asks for as soon as we get in the car or home from school. I also did this because a while ago I read something that said TV in the evening is too stimulating and causes restless sleep and potentially crazier dreams. Aubrey has been easier to put to bed and has not had ANY scarey dreams this week.
And now for some fun randomness:
- Molly was not listening to me the other night when I was asking her to come over to me to get her PJ's on. Aubrey took Molly's arm gently and walked her to me and said, "Molly you need to listen to your Mommy". I asked Aubrey if she needed a big sister to help her do that and she like totally flipped her hair and rolled her eyes at me.
- Aubrey has been PRACTICING flipping her hair - who taught her this? It is hilarious but scary
- Thank you so much for the great comments on the Travel Dread thread :) I love you guys.
- My dad hasn't really figured out how to comment - or more likely doesn't want to - so he emails me my posts with his comments :) It is very cute! Some recent comments include:
From the 33 Titles Post: Apparently you forgot about the 333 reasons why your Mom and Dad love you.
That is probably a low number but you get the point. Love, Dad
From the Travel Dread Post: So maybe you do understand how your Mom feels. I love you, Dad
And now for the question.... I have to wear black shoes at the show next week... on my feet for 10 hours a day for 5 days. I have wide feet. Any thoughts/ideas?

CROCS....They make LOTS of varieties...try crocs.com. I'm sure you can get them by Tuesday....
We are not allowed to wear Crocs or Flip Flops...
I should do that with my hair too and it's hard to get out of the habit of washing. Maybe this time of year, when I'm not all sweaty, would be a good time to try it.
I only wash my hair every other day. Just easier for me plus I am a brunette with curly hair (the dryest). I have a pair of loafers that are flats. comfy and they are on the wide side. I think (I could be wrong) I got them at Kohl's but it was a number of years ago.
http://shop.crocs.com/pc-421-4-alice.aspx?reqid=421&reqProdTypeId=41p&subsectionname=footwear§ion=products Look at the "Alice" crocs. They look like dress shoes. Would you be allowed to wear those?
I have Black Born clogs. I love them. They also have other shoes that are not clogs but have a wedge heel and are VERY comfy.
We've also found that limiting TV for Claire works wonders. She only gets about 30 minutes a day.
I second the crocks that look like dress shoes!
I'm tempted to run that t.v. experiment. I think we've gone way too laxidaisy around here on that matter.
I have no fashion advice. And If I did, I'd recommend you not follow mine.
HOpe you have a good weekend!
personally I would just tell our completely sexist and idiotic marketing department to... well, maybe I shouldn't complete that thought. I would recommend buying a pair of those really dorky black leather shoes that nurses used to wear. Or, wear black sneakers -- they're having you guys wear fake Under Armour shirts, right? Yeah, then definitely wear black Nike's with silver swooshes - the more bling the better!
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/shoes/womens/comfort/PRD~c10531/A2+by+Aerosoles+2+Rein+Tear+Shoes.jsp - this is very similar to what I have but my heel is definitely more flat. - VERY COMFY though.
by the way, I sent you that e-mail. I know you've got a busy weekend, but just in case I happened to send it to the wrong address I thought I'd let you know.
I got nothin' on this one. The concept of wearing shoes for 10 hours, much less nice looking ones, is like speaking a foreign language to me :-)
You need to share your tricks with the hair.
We did the same with the tv in the evenings because of the same thing.
